Music for the Mind Featured David Crohan

"Music for the Mind" was a great success! Over 350 people attended and we had a full house! David Crohan had the audience on their feet singing along. Without sight since infancy, David became a wizard at the piano. His uncanny talent, wit and versatility make him the consummate entertainer. The proceeds for this concert will support the Lighthouse’s youth program, the LITE Club. Thank you to all that helped to make this event the success it was. It was a night to remember.

Dear Rehab 101,

Needle threading has never been easy, how can I do this without using my vision?

Sincerely, Love 2 sew

Dear Love 2 sew:

My favorite way to teach this is to use the “One Second Needle” because it is so easy! The opening is on the side of the needle. Make sure that the thread is tight. Then slowly swipe the needle across it and you will feel and hear it click into place. It’s an “As Seen on Television”product, which is available at the Lighthouse or at local stores. If you enjoy using your sewing machine, there are needles with these side notches that you can obtain as well.

Other techniques include the following; self-threading needles, big eye needle, infila-threader or using the dental floss technique. For instruction or more information, call the Lighthouse.

If still having trouble, there are also pre-threaded needles!

Happy sewing, Rehab 101
