Social Services

The Lighthouse Social Worker assists participants by providing information about Lighthouse services and facilitating referrals to community resources, including benefits/services for the blind and visually impaired and social/recreational opportunities. The Social Worker conducts in-home assessments for candidates potentially eligible for rehabilitation services and determines eligibility by obtaining a current eye report prior to enrollment. Counseling services are offered for adjustment to blindness issues, when necessary. The Social Worker contacts participants upon completion of program to assure satisfaction with services provided.
